Phata Sugarcane

Outgrowers Cooperative

Phata Sugarcane Outgrowers Cooperative is a smallholder farmer-owned organisation that was formed in 2011. The cooperative is situated in Chikwawa district along M1 Road, a few kilometres away from Illovo Nchalo sugarcane estate in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Maseya. It was established in partnership with Agricane as the technical and administrative partners. Currently, the cooperative has a total of 1110 farmers (456 females and 654 are males) who are growing sugarcane on a total land size of 618 ha.
